The quoted messages are black and therefore can't be read. Anyone else have that problem?

I'm using Netscape 7.02. I worked fine before the site upgrade. I'll try loading on Explorer and see what happens.

Yup - a browser problem - related to the more seldom used browser programs - Alpine Ram was first to comment, and has apparently worked out a suitable fix...

Re:quoted area black
On Netscape 7.02, you can go into:edit, preferences, appearance, colors, text and background and adjust things so you can see the quotes. But, all of the text looks the same so it's more difficult to read, that is, to distinguish the quoted text from the reply. It affects the appearance of the whole sight. It's nice to have a different background color for the quoted text. I think this changed when the site was updated by adding Ford and GM.

Re:quoted area black
I use Mozilla, and I see the quoted stuff as all black, too.
I believe that since Mozilla is built from Netscape code, it
will probably act like Netscape. I have done a little looking
into this, by saving the source for the page and then
changing things to figure out what is happening. At the top
of the source code, it tells all text to be
black <body text="#000000" ....and so on, but then there are
also style sheet directives for other areas. If you take a
look at this very thread, there are only two places where there
was text quoted. Those end up in a table, and the code for
that says: bgcolor="#000000". So, there is black text on a
black background. I believe Netscape/Mozilla to be doing the
right thing. I have seen and heard that IE/Micro$haft will
assume things with malformed code, and give you what they
think you want. I think that is the case here, after all,
who would want black text on a black background, so they
change it for you. You don't even know there is a problem.

Re:quoted area black
I'm still using my Mozilla (which is by the way the development version of Netscape) and found that I don't need to change properties as described before.
I just left click and mark the text in the quote, now it's readable. (White on blue in my case)
I second mechanics comment about IE correcting css flaws that make black text on black background. Tried it myself. Heard that this method had been used to hide disclaimers and the like, therefore MS could have implemented this for a reason.
