posting pics in text body
Hey, all -- <br><br>What Himalayan god do I have to pray to in order to include a picture in the text of my post, as I've seen others do? (I'm not talking about appending a link below the post -- and I know putting images in the text should be done rarely and with small files to conserve bandwidth.) <br><br>I've crawled all over the site and the source code for pages where it's been done, and I'm stumped. (And irritated, because I know there's a simple answer that I've stupidly overlooked.) <br><br>Does it involve putting the image into the Yabbse/attachments file, and probably bracketed img & /img code? If so -- it hasn't worked for me. Or does it involve linking to an offsite url or IPS? If so -- it worked for me once, but the next time I called the thread up, it was broken. <br><br>I've just slaughtered a nice blue sheep. Who do I offer it to? <br><br>GP

The way I do it, and I think it's acceptable with Jack, is to first upload the picture to Jack's server (that's key). Not a hosting site. Click on the picture and copy the entire address of your picture into your copy buffer. Now edit your post and add the address of the picture putting "img" before and "/img" after the picture. Don't forget to enclose them in these things [ ] not " ". If I show it that way now, it would come out like this , so I left them out. Get it? Whew!!
Better yet, click on "Quote" and see the code used.

I think the reason Jack doesn't want us to embed pictures is because the dial-up guys have to wait a long time for embedded pix to load.
