you can instant message people in that list, and you can chat in the chatroom if you go to the left of the chat bar.

Something that is handy on some other forums is when you hold your cursor over the title of a thread you get a preview so you can get an idea what it's about. That's handy when some people use real general headings.

I don't mean to sound like a pain but we have that turned off here for a reason. I cannot stand it. It drives me absolutely insane and with as much as I go through this forum to either moderate or just work on it, that feature is permanently turned off. I know that sounds a bit selfish but I truly cannot stand when I have popups constantly coming up on my screen.

Looking at it in your perspective, it would get annoying. As much as you guys have to watch and check posts/threads for inappropriate content, mis use ect...( which is handled very very well on this site, by the way), Its understandable why you have it off. It is a handy feature and a time saver for the user, and wondered why it was not activated on this site, but never really thought of it from a mod/administrators point of view.
