Most expensive brake job

Well I had to get brakes on my Grand Cherokee SRT8, being Brembo's I knew it would be a little expensive but man. Front pads $440.00 rear were high 3's and all new rotors. I know the guys at the shop so they didnt pull a fast one. They work on Porsche, Lotus Etc, and were shocked at the cost. They said since these are 1 offs as far as they know for the Grand Cherokee SRT-8 they are expensive. They also do not believe in turning rotors on performance cars, due to the heat and the need for good breaking. So all in all it cost me a little over $1800.00. Heck I shoulda bought a Cayenne . Oh and did I mention I only had 23K miles, someone must drive that thing hard!

Time to trade up!!!!!!!!!!!! From my experiences with brembo and other high performance brakes. It kinda sounds like you did get taken for a ride. I purchased a complete set meaning calipers and pads for 1100 bucks. If they are 1 off which im takin it means, RARE, I would buy a brembo set for 1000 bucks, sell your set, and put new 1 on with a little custom bracketry. But since your vehilce is new, you probably wouldnt wanna do that. I would just trade up.

drive one!!!!! And you wont give a darn on how much the brakes cost. Stop light to stop light, which is typical USA driving its hard to beat. And it sure is fun beating up on $115K vehicles.
