I wanted to say that today marks the 6th anniversary of 9-11.

I want to thank all the Heroes and want to Remember all the loved ones we lost on that Tragic Day.

God Bless you all!

8:46 AM EST today, they are calling for the Nation to stop and remember those who lost their lives to terrorists 6 years ago.

That day has been forever burned into my memory.
(notice my avatar)
Like those who were alive when JFK was shot, or when the 1st Space Shuttle exploded, people will always remember exactly where they were when they heard the news.

Easy one for me, my mother-in-law died on 9/10/01 and we were headed to the funeral home to make the arrangements... Wife went to the graveyard yesterday to visit.

Thanks to all who serve! My nephew is a paratrooper/trainer and has been to Iraq several times from Virginia. GOD BLESS ALL OF OUR SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN!! The back window on my truck is my small tribute to them all. See avatar.

NEVER FORGET 343

"Greater love hath no man than to lay his life down for his brother"

Got that in a text today from one of our Medic/FF's. We all know where that quote is from and it is oh so true.

I was supprized to find out that my high school didn't have a moment of silence for those lost. I do rember where I was and what I was doing, but at them I didn't relize how serious it was. I wish I had.

Terrible day. I, like most, will never forget where I was and what I was doing. I'm on duty today and every year we have a ceremony at every station for those lost.

The sad thing about this is, 5 years ago this thread would have been full of posts. Today is the 6-year anniversary of the attacks and there are only 10-11 posts. I actually heard yesterday in the store someone say “oh yeah, tomorrow is Sept. 11th isn't it?”

It is amazing how fast people forget. Case in point....

I will never forget, I was pre-flighting my aircraft for a standard 5 hr. training flight at NAS Jacksonville when word came we were grounded until further notice. I remember crowding around the duty office to get a look at the tv. 10 months later I was fighting a war. Some people will never get it, to them it was like watching a movie on tv.

My grand parents wedding anniversary. Married 52 years when grandma died. Grandpa 5 years later.

I remember telling my boss at the time ,"I'm going to take care of my family,
Fire me I don't care!" He let me have the day off............with pay no doubt!

I'll certainly never forget and never forgive until we have all of our armed forces back from fighting this type of global scum!
