Site Moved to Vbulletin - READ!

Guys, the site has been moved to VBulletin as an early Christmas gift. I did it now because the db was already done, and it took me a lot less time then I thought.

For those of you who cannot login!!!! HAVE THE SYSTEM SEND YOU A NEW PASSWORD! This should be a minor issue as most people have been able to login without issue.

Have fun!:D

PS - The current photo gallery is still up, but you cannot post photos in it. I am going to be switching to the new system next week. I'll leave the old one up for a while so you can post your pictures in the new one. There is no way for me to import them unfortunately.

Good work Jack.
The only thing I noticed was that I had all my PMs to delete out of my PM box again. (157 messages)

Thanks for letting me know. I think it's because of the way I did the db move. I am going to restrict the amount of pm's one can have to keep the db size down from now on. Seems faster :)

Sent ya a PM.

IMPRESSIVE

MAN this site is SMOKIN' fast now with the newer software.
:D

Yeah, much faster than YaBB SE. It did the job for over two years, but we REALLY needed to upgrade.

It is faster!

I had no problems logging in.
Things look very nice Jack, well done.

Looks good Jack. Can I bookmark it or will the .../dev/.. go away?

Well, I was going to make it go away, but it actually is fine like it is so I am not going to change it. It also serves another purpose by not showing our forum in search engines by automatic hacking scripts. Those scripts look for certain directories, so this is the way it's going to stay.

Thank you Jack ! The forums are much faster, especially since I am on a dial up. Thank you again for all of your hard work.

You'll find a spot in the Admin panel that you can use to mark the spiders. As there are some nifty tools that your other Admins and Mods will have access to, the marking of Spiders becomes very handy. ;)

Tom, I am going to read up on this. Thanks for the tip.

One other thing.. There's a "nasty" floating around out there as well. Doesn't do anything bad to your site, but is used by a company to mine through all threads to see if there are any trademark/copyright violations. It appears as a "normal" spider under the name of NameProtect. I've had to ask our membership to stop quoting articles in their entirety because of it.

There's also a project using the PC Distribution concept used by Seti and Genome projects. Only it mines all websites. Major annoyance when it nails your site as there could be a couple of dozen "idjits" running the thing.

For some reason the new software isn't allowing me to attach an image to my posts, it comes out as an url
