Rattlinram (Dennis) and I performed the same upgrade on his truck. I'm sure he will concur with your recommendation not to do the change with a full tank of fuel.

Sounds like an oil bath I took when pulling the lube oil pumps out of a Navy diesel once. May share it one day but not here(off the topic and don't want to take away from a well written piece). Thanks for making me wiser and for making those mistakes for me. My next mods I will have to make sure you have not posted one that relates to mine. Might as well be a repeat learning experience where I stay clean and you get dirty! Thanks again
