My Vacation with the 1st Gen.

Left San Diego area yesterday after watching the Glen Helen Motocross race and made it to Landcaster by 9pm. Parked in front our first stop which is LACR motocross track which opens shortly. We're going to ride till noon or so and then take off for Pony Express RV park in St. George, Utah.

Great picture. I've never been to CA but have been to Nev, AZ, OR, and Wash and think the scenery is so different out there on the West Coast that its addictive. Have fun, be safe, and for goodness sake share pics

Scenery in CA is different depending on where in the state you are, just like anywhere. In 1990 we drove from central Oregon to San Francisco and the redwoods were my favorite part. Seemed like everyone along the coast drove a reclaimed school bus that was flower painted, driven by a guy who resembled Jesus Christ.

It was July and being over 100 degrees the entire time we were there wasn't any fun, nor was getting lost in the mountains trying to get back to us #5 to go back to OR. Those pot farmers weren't friendly at all

Looking forward to your continued journey

We drive up US-395 every once in a while to Ridgecrest. The scenery is great but the 2 lane highway is the pits. If they didn't have passing lanes there would be even more deaths because of impatient drivers and the stupid 65/55 speed limits.

We rode our bikes till noon and then packed up and hit the road. It's was very warm today along 15 thru the California desert and into Nevada and Utah. Outside temp hovered around 100 degrees for the whole days drive.

Truck got a little hot but never got as high as the H and only climbed as high in the pick on one occasion. Just outside of baker is a super long grade, guessing at least 15 miles long and we did the whole climb with trailer in tow and A.C. on

We overnighted in St. George Utah and now just arrived at St. Anthony sand dunes, Idaho. Been driving all day but soon as we got here the bikes came out and off we went!

Spent quite a bit of time riding today. Between both of us we burned 10 gallons of VP after re jetting for the altitude.

Now it's just about 10PM and starting to get dark. Time for beer, fire and food!

That's Ace Man, he's my dog. My wife actually shows and occasionally breeds Staffordshire Terriers and this is a dog she imported from Scottland but he's totally attached to me. Lol

Today we packed up and left St. Anthony sand dunes and drove to our spot at Colter Bay RV in Teton National Park. We avoided the Teton Pass although I totally could of handled it but instead drove south and followed the Snake River around and up to Jackson. I must say we drove down some very remote farm roads to get to Hwy26 and let me tell you that is God's country and I now know where I'd like to retire!

Can't believe this is about a 1 min walk from us right now.

Great pics. Are you and your wife planning on children soon? My wife and I took two really cool vacations before our son. Now, we plan weekend camping trips. Nothing big. Keep the pics coming.
