Bad injector - Oil overflow & no/low oil pressure

While idling I received a check gauge light & I had no oil pressure. After moving the truck I got oil pressure again and soon parked it. Then I noticed oil on the underside and rear of the truck. Then I checked the oil level on the dipstick and it read high. I plan to check the anti-freeze level in the radiator to see if it is leaking into the motor. Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this.? Any insight is much appreciated.

Most likely a stuck injector and it's leaking diesel fuel into the crankcase. Get it to the dealer ASAP.

The anti-freeze level in the radiator is good. So, a stuck injector it might be. What a pain to deal with! I'll let y'all know.

I really hoped the extra cash for the CTD motor would provide extra reliability and I wouldn't see this site.......wrong. The dealer had it all day long and didn't figure much out to the cause of the problem. They said they have to call D/C engineering before they start to tear-down & replace parts.

Thanks ramruff, I didn't find that post in all my searching on this site (way too limited). I really hope the bearings didn't suffer a bit through this. The motor seemed to run and sound just the same as before - very good.

i wouldn't worry about the bearngs within the engine [mains, rods, pins, cam bushings] but the turbocharger bearings i do worry about when i hear about fuel dilution... they are under very high speeds... but if endplay and radial play is ok on the charger, it'll be ok to use

That's like bolting a 16 psi supercharger on a stock gas engine and wondering why it blew up, Mr. Quad race box.

Hope you're gooooooood friends with your dealer.

Thanks, I am good buds with him. He has it on his truck now while I can't use it. He needs new tires now.

Could it have done something? Maybe.

Do a search. Lots of discussion on injector damage from pressure boxes. Quad himself did a couple posts about it.

DC's Star Center called the shots for the dealer on this one. # 5 injector was replaced & changed oil and filter. All seems to be well now. Roadside assist picked-up the truck within 40 minutes of my call and warranty covered all fees 100%.
