Mini Maxx Questions

Getting ready to order the Mini Maxx delete tuner tomorrow, along with their tranny tuning, turbo-back exhaust, pyro kit, EGR/Cooler delete kit. When reading about the tranny software, it says to download the latest Mini Maxx software to the tuner, then the tranny software. Where might I find the latest software? Can't seem to find a website for H&S...

Getting the Sinister EGR/Cooler delete kit that's pre-tapped for a pyro - is that a good location for the probe? Not looking for extra power, it's just as cheap to delete as it is to replace the DPF that's started to give me 80% full messages.

Thanks!

Bob

I think you are wasting your money in a couple of places. It's cheaper and easier to go with just a DPF/NOX delete pipe and keep the down pipe and factory muffler. Second it's possible to just get an EGR cooler only delete kit and an after market intake horn so no EGR valve delete is needed and a much smoother air flow and easier to change out besides the factory intake horn will be full of crud by now. Third using the rear EGR cooler block off plate for the EGT probe does work but it indicates 100 to 150 degrees cooler at anything above idle and also spools much slower. I started out with just the rear blocker location than added a second probe in the exhaust manifold "Y" so I see both at any time. I would take the time and tap the exhaust manifold. Make sure you have a battery charger on the truck while doing the software upload, this will ensure you have good battery voltage. If you are buying the EGT probe separate the H&S "universal" probe and box is much better and more reliable than the H&S EGT probe and box, the probes are the same it's just the box part.

Busboy - does the intake also replace the throttle valve? I'm finding those for between $340 and $390. Sinister combo EGR/Cooler delete kit is $230, plus another $90 or so for the throttle valve delete. So you think the factory downpipe is OK? I have to find a shop to do the work, so I suppose the labor costs would be cheaper as well...

Thanks!

Well, I need to quit looking around. Started looking at the RaceMe Ultra. It has built-in tranny tuning. Install looks more complex as it requires a separate control box be mounted somewhere (doesn't say where) and looks like it connects to the ECM interface instead of the OBD-II port. Would help me in the immediate sense in that, according to RaceMe, the EGR system is disabled without removing parts right away. This truck is our only transportation so install time is important. Looks like I could initially just replace the DPF/NOX and have a usable truck. I could then schedule the EGR/Cooler delete and pyro install at a later date. Initial outlay for all parts is only a couple hundred more for the RaceMe vs Mini Maxx w/tranny software. So, anyone have any experience with the RaceMe Ultra?

Thanks for your patience with a noob to deletes,

Bob

An after market intake horn has no place for a throttle valve so yes it would replace it, sorry I said EGR valve in last post. When I bought my intake horn it was on sale for $110 CD that is around 6 years ago when I deleted. I also have been using the existing down pipe since then too with no problems. Whether you go with the Mini maxx or the race me, the transmission tuning is important I think, it makes the transmission much smoother and will improve the life span. I have no input on the race me. These were the intake pics from my sons 2011 G56 truck after I think less than a year old. Keep the factory muffler.. My son on his 2013 which is a different set up with no muffler found it very very loud and even after adding a muffler is still way too loud compared to my 2011 with factory muffler.

Thanks Busboy! Placed the order this morning for the RaceMe Ultra, DPF delete pipe, AFE intake horn, cooler delete kit, and EGT probe. Supposed to be here Thursday, and have install scheduled at a local shop on Monday.

Thanks for all the help!
