NSTR here

we went home to NC once, had BIG hurricane (or storm or whatever) down in GA.

so my daughter called, said POWER IS OUT, BUY a GENERATOR.

so we bought one at hurricane prices. (full price for a demo model with no parts or manual)

she called before we got back home "power is back on"

i kept it, but i take it out once a year and run the gas out, using it to power the saws/tools for a project or something.

before we had it, power would be out for hours all the time.
oh well, better to have it, and not need it....

Madhat, Thanks, hopefully they get the car worked out. I just got off the phone with mom and the dealer had the car for several hrs today and said nothing was wrong with it. They reset the engine light and also took the top of the motor apart and had no explanation to them. WHile on the phone with mom the car started running really rough so her and dad turned around and took it right back to the dealer. The bad thing is they just picked it up.

I hate when dealers do stuff like that, had something similar to that happen to me when my VP44 went. I got dead peddle all the time and no power, LP was good though. Dealer said to me that the LP need replace with the intaker. Got the truck back and dead peddle like no other on the way home, turned around and went right back. Told them to take that intanker and shove it and that I want a new IP. The funny thing is the service rep new it was bad and that the intank was the first fix and if it doesn't fix it the IP will be replaced. I wanted to smack him with that LP for sayin that.

OK off the rant

Anyways my day went pretty good, was muggy for part of the day till the rain came. Worked on my brothers truck after work today. Did a service on it and found a bad hub bearing that will be getting fixed under warranty monday morning. The GF is planning a party with her sister tonight for her sisters boy friend for when he comes home on leave from Iraq. So I'm going out with a couple friends to a local pub.

Mom called again will I was typing, she said all the lights on the dash came on and started flashing, the car was shuddering really bad, and had no power. I think the tech might have done something wrong or there is more wrong with the car than they thought.

Well, my little girl passed her written part of her driver's liscense test with flying colors. New sh would. Drive test on the 17th. All she wants to drice is the cummins ramcharger with 6" of lift and 35" tires. Sorta brings a tear to my eye.

To late. Gotta sleep.

Mornin' all! Up early to go 50 miles north and have a friend of mine mill up a double sided wedge for the new log splitter I'm makin'. Maybe I'll learn how to use a metal lathe so I can get one for myself and avoid havin' to get up early and travel 50 miles on a Saturday!

Hat, I can't respond to your emails, I get a pop-up tellin' me I can't. Just so ya know I ain't ignorin' ya!

Coffee, tea, sweet tea an' ph00 is all ready. Donuts are now known as the 'fuzz rings', but they're still ok to eat.

Later!

chaikwa.

They got it fixed and are back on the road. She called me later last night and said they did a intake manifold gasket, some sensor on the throttle body, and something with the egr. I'll look at the paper work when they get back home next week. I guess when they pulled it in the second time the dealer put 2 techs on it untill they had it fixed. I took a couple hours but its done.

Went this morning with a load of scrap steel siding from the left overs after we torn down my grandmas house. Got $150 for a trailer full, I can't remember what the per ton price was. Gonna go get the front windshield tinted in a bit and I'll wash the truck later. The scrap yard was all muddy.

Afternoon... pretty quiet...

Been looking back through DTR history... I found my first, (or one of the first) post (s) back when I was a greenhorn on the DTR....

Matt, we get .04 a pound here for scrap, and .07 for auto's, but in Fl, they are getting .21 for #2 steel and somewhere around .30 for #1...

Madness...
