Please change the filter. :D You can bleed through a clogged filter and relieve the overflow quite easily with the truck off, running may be a different scenario.

Then check fuel pressure....

I have not been able to find a steering shaft u joint, but replacement shafts can be reasonably priced. Just make sure you lock the steering wheel while changing, keep everything lined up.
