"CASH FOR CODGERS" and it works like this... Couples wishing to access health care funds in order to pay for the delivery of a child will be required to turn in one old person. The amount the government grants them will be fixed according to a sliding scale. Older and more prescription dependent codgers will garner the highest amounts.

Special "Bonuses" will be paid for those submitting codgers in targeted groups, such as smokers, alcohol drinkers, persons 10 pounds over their government prescribed weight, and any member of the Republican Party.

Smaller bonuses will be given for codgers who consume beef, soda, fried foods, potato chips, lattes, whole milk, dairy products, bacon, Brussel sprouts, or Girl Scout Cookies.

All codgers will be rendered totally useless via toxic injection. This will insure that they are not secretly resold or their body parts harvested to keep other codgers in repair.

Remember you heard it here first...

Actually there is a similar program already in place... Gold for Grandpa! We aren't trading you in yet though. How much are you worth anyway?

Wow. Socialism. Never has happened in the US. Hey Administrator who pays you? What about the the school teachers, the firemen, the judicial system, your local building inspector, shall I go on.
I live in Canada, I have a gov. med system and I am very thankful for it.
In the beginning of our system there was a lot of rejection, by the doctors and the pharmaceuticals.
They now endorse it, because they get paid.
Call it what you want, I can go to a Dr. or hospital with no payment, no worry of pre existing injury.
I am shocked that this is not endorsed whole heartedly. The only thing I have lost in this is poor health.
Wait, you say I have long waiting lines. I have never experienced this.
Take a step back and look at this, it is good for your country.
A country in good health, can fight and work hard.
Be careful of big medicine their propaganda is strong, and well financed.
I am not looking to stop your thoughts or your belief, I just want to let you know of my experience, which is positive to a system that I would not want to loose.

I know Lary I said I would not be in this part of the forum. But it is a political forum, so as it goes in politics I did not inhale.

Why are you the only one totally satisfied with your system? Are all the other Canadians liars?

Clayton....

I am glad that you are happy with your socialized health care. I am sure you are in the very small minority though. I have a few friends (in person and internet) from Canada that have nothing good to say about it.
I am only guessing here but I bet you are a younger person and in good health to begin with. If so, that is probably why you are very happy.

Socialized medicine has pretty much failed in every country it is used in. The major issue is that it bankrupts the government. There are several countries that have it and are trying to figure out how to get away from it. Bottom line is it would never work here in the US.

Glad you have a positive experience with your government running everything for you. Sorry, that's not for me. Don't want any part of it, EVER. Period.

I am not a younger person. So health care is a concern for me.
I don't know of any one that dislikes this system we have. I have heard some complain about their Dr.
The gov. does not run the health care here. The Dr.s run it, the gov. pays the bill.
In Canada no wants to see the health care system change. The system is not breaking the countries bank account either.
Don't be afraid of what you have never had.
