What tranny Parts

I want to upgrade my tranny on my auto 2001 but i have no idea what to replace and in what order i was looking at the dtt website and seen alot of things i would like to get but i am on a limited budget. so the total tranny upgrade isn;t an option. i do some towing of a 26 foot camp trailer and a 25 foot boat i can't remember the weights right off hand. but most of the time its just my dailey driver. so i don't think anything major is in order. all i want is something that will give me a strong feel and releive my worries for the most part while towing. any help will be apprecaited
thanks

If you want to go cheap just get a valvebody and return the core VB to your supplier. (In some cases you will have to install a resistor or voltage regulator close to the pcm)
If you want to go with a better TC I think that you'll haver to go through the whole tranny .

You are close to DTT in Abbotsford. Call Bill and ask him if a valvebody and pressure checkout is a good first step. Bills crew will check the pressures and shifting adjustments when they replace the valve body.

Their pressure checks will advise you if there are any excessive internal hydraulic leaks that should be addressed.

There are a couple of things you need to be concerned with. How many miles/wear is on the parts now (seals, bands, and clutches)? The upgrades will most likely raise the pressure in the tranny so what shape are the seals in? You don’t want to go through all that work and then blow seals.
The low speed torque converter will increase the power to the ground at lower rpms but, that also means more heat in stop and go traffic and when backing up the boat/rv, so gauges will be a must (correct me if I’m wrong here guys). You will lock up earlier so once you get moving things will cool down.
I went with Suncoast but I think any of the top aftermarket trannys are better than stock. I would visit all and see what works for you. I know of people with each of these trannys and all like their trannys, some more passionately than others. Here are a few links to get you started.

MK- Another big factor in tranny longevity is the driver. Keep the revs up and don't tow in OD.
Be **** on maintenance.
A good idea would be to omit the question "is brand a better than brand b" on this board when you ask about trannies.

Different strokes for different folks. I have no idea what tranny I'm going to go with, but whichever one it is, it will most definately be better than stock. I'm thinking maybe Suncoast.

I talked with Joe from Suncoast, very nice guy. He asked what I had planned in the future as far as mods and truck usage. He recommended a pro loc single disk converter and a valve body. He didn't try to sell me anymore than I needed, which is a nice change. He gave me a contact for installation in my area. I think this is the set up I feel comfortable with and is in my price range.
