What size jammers?

I'm looking at getting a set of edge jammers but keeping the stock turbo for now but will upgrade in the future just not right away. I don't tow more than a few dirt bikes, quads or a small boat, but will be pulling a trailer across the country from alberta to Nova Scotia. I'm moving and don't know how much the trailer will weigh but will the stock turbo handle stage 5's with the comp turned all the way down or would 3's be better?

I have 3's on my stock turbo and am very pleased. I don't run my SC when towing because the 3's have plenty of power by themselves to get me over the hills without high EGT's. I tried ONCE to tow in tow safe (40 hp) and my tranny was slipping so I just turned it off. Running empty, it holds the power just fine as long as I leave it on the 40 hp setting. My max EGT so far has been 1200 and that was on a 1 mile 5% grade pulling 8000 lbs at 67mph.

I've towed some with my 5's and stock turbo. I always have the smarty on SW5 or SW7. I will admit that I do not tow often or heavy though.

I lock out od and keep the rpm on the high side I generally don't have any issues. I run about 60-65 mph at 2500 to 2700 rpm. Towing my 5,000# boat around is absolutely no problem. The road to the lake I go to is long and straight, but has pretty steep hills up and down for about 20 miles and I have had zero problems. Now towing a bobcat and trailer (guessing about 10,000#) things get a lot warmer. It's not too bad once you get moving, though.

The bigger problem for me is the trans, but it looks like you have upgraded yours some. Anyway, these are just my experiences...hope it helps.

That's a long trip to be keeping one eye on the Pyro and backing out of it on the hills. I think the 5's will run hot with much of a load.
