Question What mud flaps for my "new" 2500 quad.

So all,

looking for ideas for accesories for my "new" (to me ) '99 2500 quad shortbox 4x4 sport.

Especially I need mudflaps before I pick it up (I don't want to be running gravel roads like I do everyday without some, don't want to loose my paint!)

Dealer is installing chrome fender flares, I think they'll look sharp on the black sport.

Ideas anyone???

Today I saw a "tricked out" Dodge running through town. Dual stacks etc. Now on to the mudflaps on his........ It appears they were custom made and on the mudflaps it said all pretty in chrome lettering......."Cummins" and right below " Twin Turbos". Nice rig! I wish I had a better look under the hood.

Becarefull with the crome wheel fender well flares. I took mine off to clean behind them like I do every year and every oneof them had rust behing them. I'll fix the chips thanks from now on. Good thing my brother in law has his own body shop, or i would cost a fortune.

Yeah, I wondered about that as well.

Dealer says oil them up really well before you put them on and no problem.

I was thinking of filling them full of grease before I put them on. Just clean the excess grease off after.

I dunno.

Cool

These may not be the cheapest, but they are the best mudflaps I have seen...

Greenworks.

Why would you leave the flaps off if you had to do it over???

Just curious .

Why not take them off now if you don't like them?

I just bought one trcuk mudflap and cut it in half. I built my own hangers that sit just behind the wheel well liners, and I am making stainless weights. I have a total of $45 in materials. It really beats the $150 plus that you spend on some of those shown above.

iwent with the dealer mud flaps, the one thing i would suggest is that they stick out of your fender 1/2 inch and get them as long as possible.i thought mine were long enough but the wheel spray from the bottom of the flap directed the spray off the tire towards the center of the bottom of the doors.needless to say ,the bottoms rusted from the inside behind the rubber strip (only at the center ,dealer fixed one side only, they said it has to bubble from the outside for warranty)
