there is an extrea bung ontop of the oil filter assembly...and there is a plug you have to drill and pull out to run the return oil line for the secondary turbo which loacted about 4 inchs from the rear of the engine on the passenger side....

I think he means for the turbo drain!

It should be about 18in back from the front one if I remember right.

thanks fella and i do appreciate it and yes i do mean the return. i built a set of twins for a 12 valver and i knew it had to drill the oil pan and that was a hard process and when i went to the 24 valver i thought they ALL came with the extra oil bung for the return if i ever went twin turbo route. i didn't see an actual bung like the front one, but i did see a plug that appears to have a somewhat of an allen wrench head on it that is at the bottom of the block directly above where the oil pan bolts on that is towards the rear of the motor, is that the one i have to pull? please help as this weekend i had hoped to have it completed. but to repeat myself i thoguht all 24 valvers had the extra bung!!

Not sure...better see if anyone who has one chimes in. If they don't, I'll check out my buddies 02 and see what his has.

You don't, by chance, know what "number" block you have, do you. (Ex. 53, 56)

That might help narrow down why it doesn't have one, if in fact, it doesn't.

You should have one there. ~18" to the rear of the first one along the same plane. It's a freezeplug about 1" down into the hole.

If you look here, it's directly under the coolant line coming from the transmission heat exchanger.

You can see where both of them come inside this 53 block in this picture:

thanks guys and thanks brandon for the pic i was apparently looking for the wrong thing i was looking for an actual bung and didn't even think it would be just a metal plug. thanks guys!!

by the way where do you all get the short 4" rubber hoses to connect the cold pipe to the top turbo? i asked around the local diesel shops and they said they didn't know what i was talking about so i thought i would ask my fellow diesel enthusiasts!!!

thanks again
