Warning To Those Of You With Aux Lift Pumps!!!!!
Well I thought it was pretty slick when I wired my pusher pump to trigger off of my stock lp...I just tapped into the hot side and used that to excite my relay....many miles no problems. Well a buddy of mine triggerd his exactly as is mine...infact I helped with the install. He began losing fp truck dies...hmm must be the relay, bzzzz wrong! tried that, nada, turns out the day after the pusher was put on the stocker took the dive, HOWEVER it was going to dead short intermittently poping the relay....which shuts down the pusher too!!!!!!!! Moral of the story is : DO NOT TRIGGER YOUR PUSHER OFF OF YOUR STOCKER, BAD THINGS CAN HAPPEN!!!!! mine is getting moved to the "ON" circut somewhere tonight!
PS EVER SEE SOMEONES FACE WHEN YOU TELL EM' IT'S ONLY GONNA COST YOU A GRAND TO FIX?

I've got my blue powered off of 2 30 amp relays triggered by the stock harness and have been doing it this way for a while now. Had my PE pump set up the same way. Then again, I did away with the factory pump completely.
That is exactly what I am doing Haulin' I have seen quite a few setups like mine with a pusher and no gauges "cause ya know the pusher solves the problem" I just want to throw what I discovered out there so it does not happen to some other poor sap.
Why would you put a pusher pump on and leave the stock lift pump?
I'm sorry, I just don't see the point of that, since as some of you have seen, the stock lift pump still fails, and you still have to replace it......
If you feel like you have a high quality pusher pump, just bypass the stocker and leave the pusher wiring the way it is.

Eh? He's talking about switching the relay off the hot wire to the stock LP. So what are these "bad" things that can happen when you do this and what is the technical explanation? If you don't switch it off the stock LP, I think you will end up with a very hard to start truck. Remember switch as in switching the relay... not powering the pusher pump.

high country,
Exactly why everyone should have a fuel pressure gauge.
Stamey,
The reason for a fuel pusher pump is to help the oem pump live longer.
I can take out my relay for the pusher pump and still get 11 psi out of the oem pump. I can also disconnect the oem pump and get 13-14 psi out of the pusher pump. All the pressures are taken after the filter and yes the pusher is triggered off the oem lift pump wire.
