Walbro 392 Install Complete.
Walbro 392 Install Complete.
Well the Walbro 392 got installed today and I have to admit Richard Martin runs a business the way it ought to be run. Top quality hardware and parts, there was nothing Mickey Mouse about anything in the kit. Customer Service at GDP is 110%. Good price on the product.
Hopefully this will protect the new VP that went in about a month ago. Time will tell. Once this Walbro system is in place the ease of serviceability is outstanding, if it ever needs it.

Funny thing, I just finished mine up today as well, with a temporary FP gauge to monitor performance. Thus far I am very impressed. 17 psi Idle, 17 psi WOT with a 9k trailer on behind, on a 9% grade. ( DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!!! )
I will be better able to judge its performance after a couple weeks of tooling around. I felt that after 8 stock pumps, and the last one failing outside of the 12 month warranty period, it was time to do something different.
I agree on Richard's level of service, excellent guy, willing to take the time to discuss everything from installation, to other proposed mods. A lot of big name companies could take a lesson from Rich in the service department.
Happy guzzling.

You guys won't be dissapointed!
I've got about 2K miles on mine and it works great. I just tapped the pump again and with a hose clamp as a regulater on the return line I can't pull it below 10psi.

GSP.
Yes the T goes up to the pressure relief valve, then back to the filler neck manifold. The manifold is just a "T" that the return line hooks to. Truck runs good made a trip into Charlotte today.
The only thing I may do is make a stone/debis shield for the wires that attach to the pump. It's fairly protected as the truck is a shortbed and is mounted right below the floorboard/firewall area on the inside frame.

Below is the filler neck connection.

Phil , are thoes pics of your truck? I see you have the kit with the T and the inline bybass regulator valve. I thought you ment you were useing just a hose clamp on the return line to regulate the high pressure that the pump puts out and you just bought the pump and made your own return pressure relief system.
Im familier with Glasiers kit and called Richard a couple times.
I was searching for a bypass regulator valve to build my own kit, But I think I will just spend the coin and by his complete kit. I cant find a piston valve like his .
Looks like you mounted it pretty far forward by the front control arm bracket.
Looks good though,
Rick

I've had my GDP Walbro kit on my 3rd gen now for almost 15k miles. Except for one part that I FUBARed it has been working perfectly!!! And I can still hear my radio!! I got the 391 as I'm not looking for insane power. Richard is a stand up guy in my book!!
CORed, I can't hear it or feel it. Totally quiet
.
Even when I bumped the starter to bleed the air out of the lines (engine not running) all I could hear was the fuel hitting into the plastic gallon milk jug. I guessed it pumped about a half gallon during the 1st cycle (20 seconds?) of the pump running. Seems like good flow until I get my Geno's FP guage hooked up.
