Ultimate HX35 turbo power setup ?
Looking to get max HP from my 2001.5 HO for
15 -16 second blasts on the track and still tow 8000# with stock HX35 turbo. As you can see I already have a Smarty and RV275 injectors. I want to add the Powermax3, with a water/Meth injection for short blasts. I would hookup the water injection to be activated whenever the Powermax3 was on. Would this be too much for a stock head gasket if I limit boost to 35 psi ? |

I have a 400 horse ram that probably runs about that (due to being a manual) and with a blocked wastegate i can hit over 40 psi easily, with AC on and a wastegate in place (no block in line) i hit 35 psi, and about 38 psi without the AC on. (dont have an answer for that one sorry) I still have my stock headgasket, and havent even retorqued the head yet (i know im playin with fire) but within the next few weeks a marine gasket and ARPs are gonna go in, I will admit tho, 35s are pretty quick spoolin turbos and can make for alot of fun :D Serious BOMBing has commenced with mine as of late Rick |
Why not upgrade turbo if you're worried about heat? Or atleast a 14cm gated housing. Your heat shouldn't be too bad I wouldn't think with the combo and pm3 and I wouln't worry about your HG.

I just want to see how far I can go
without changing the stock turbo[guitar] |
For future reference , when I bought this truck to
replace our tired Chevy Tahoe. I said it was going to stay STOCK[duhhh] |

Hybrid turbo would probably help.
I'm kinda wantin to do the same thing, but no meth and maybe a Hot rod pump. Mine won't be a tow truck so that helps a little. |
would a hot cam help in all aspects of having the stock turbo? what about upgrading to twins later on, would the cam need to be changed again?

Look up one of HOHN's old posts about this.
Helix 2 cam, a Megamouth DP, and some other things were on his list of thing he thought would help!! Personally, a turbo is required IMHO. Our engines don't breathe well, so we have to move it in under pressure, which takes bigger, stronger chargers!! Chris |
Just went through what your looking for, BUT I installed BD super single, with 90 stickes and comp box I can lay down 425 on the ground. I do set the comp back when towing I have a 31foot fifth it seems to pass others with no prolbem[laugh]
