TCI Torque Convertor

Anybody here running a TCI torque convertor ? Any opinions on 'em ?

It really depends on how much hp you are planning for or how much weight you want to tow. I have never seen anyone mention using a TCI on here.....trying it could be a waste of hard earned money. Id look at DTT, Dave Goerend, Piers Diesel or Suncoast. JMO. Basically, it comes down to the ol saying "you get what you pay for"

hmmmm i'd recoment Goerend, Suncoast, DTT.... any others here that have been mentioned before a TCI. I've never had any feedback for a diesel application..... i have had firsthand experience with TCI in gas burner's and it wasn't good..... 2 were unbalanced and eventually (in less that 5 miles of easy driving with minimal vibration and BOOM) they came apart.... one did just idling... all of these required a newly rebuilt trans.... it sux to rebuild a trans with less than 5 miles.... so now that guy that builds trans's offers NO WARRANTY if using a TCI converter..... just my .02

I just put in a TCI Maximizer this weekend, it is built just for the Cummins with the Billet front end. I figure they have been building TQ's for a long time and they designed this one just for our trucks. Plus the price was right.
I'll let you know how it works.

So how does it work?

I was thinking about getting a TCI for mine; but I figured for about $200 more, it would be very smart on my part to go ahead, and get a Goerend converter with a 100k mile no questions asked warranty with awesome customer service, and still a good price. A TCI might have lasted forever, but with this one; I know for a fact that I am good for a long time,a nd I know who I am talking to if it ever does give me problem's.

Just had my transmission upgraded last week, running the TCI Maximizer with billet flex plate. So far so good, just need to get some minor adjustments made in the shift pattern for a mor agressive shift but otherwise, it seems to handle the extra HPs my bulley dog throws at it. I also liked the fact that these TCs are built for the CTD, I will keep you informed if anything changes.

Hey ScottsJeeprolet, I also see you have a BD valve body which is what I also want, while you are pre-testing all this equipment for me , why don't you also throw on a BD Pressure-Loc, then I'll know how the whole setup I am looking at works ? [laugh]

You can call me scotte

I have read and been told the Pressure-Loc is a waste of money.
I didn't get a chance to test the truck out today on my way to work got stuck behind 2 school buss's [verymad] .
I'll let you know how it works, but guage readings are showing improvement.
engine idle 60psi before, 72 psi after.
in drive tq locked @ 1800 rpm= 75 before & 90 after. :)
So far so good
I think i will put the hammer down [laugh] on the way home today.
maybe even on 5x5 [eyecrazy]
see ya
