TC Lock-Up

Is there any way to get the TC to lock up in 2nd or once it shifts into 3rd, there is such a difference when it is in lock up compared to not, it is the stock converter but I have a DTT valve body and the tranny is in good shape, If there is a way to lock up 2nd would it un-lock to shift, I don't really want to break a shaft.

Dont force the pedal to the floor when accellerating, just be easy with it and you will feel it lock up better.

I already do this but it just so much better when in lock up so I would like to have it at least lock up sooner.

A lock up switch will lock it in 2nd and keep it locked all the way until OD but it won't unlock for shifts. You'll probably have to buy a controller for that but even then I'm not sure if those unlock during shifts.

Why haven't you tapped your wire yet?

I didn't tap the wire because I need my big line kit installed, should be this weekend , just waiting on some parts, and I really can't afford a tranny right now so I hope the VB does it;s job, I just hear so many people say different things, some say it will hold, some say it won't, but the people that say it won't(local guys) are just trying to sell me a TC because they say that is all I need, they never heard of DTT.

You are trying to fix the wrong problem. You want lockup because the converter does not put the power to the ground. You need a converter. DDT can probably match a proper converter to their VB.

Well, the problem I am trying to fix is power to the ground, when in lock up it is 1:1 , I was just thinking that if I could get it to lock up earlier it would be a bit better, and the VB would keep it from slipping, funds just won't allow a new converter right now,

The switch will lock it up for you, depending on how DTT set up the valve body it might lock up in all gears, I don't know how you told them to build it. My valve body will not lock in 1st, but it will in all other gears. Look into my gallery-I have a few options in there.
