tap the pump or injectors?

I am currently running a Banks Big Hoss without the pump tapped. What would be recommended for the next power upgrade? Should i get a tuner and tap the pump? Or should i run RV275 injectors or similar? I don't want to upgrade the turbo. MY boost is currently 30# max and i have never seen over 1100 deg on the pyro.(at manifold). What expected gains should i see with one or the other,or both? Trans should not be a problem. Thanks TG

Honestly, I would do both. I'm not famiar with a Big Hoss as far as how it connects and operates, but from what I can read on their website, it appears to operate basically like a timing box.

That means you should limit you "fueling box" options to those that do NOT manipulate engine timing. This means the PowerMax from TST and the Fuel Management System from Blue Chip.

Injectors: I think you would be best advised to consider whether or not you want to idiot-proof your truck or not. If so, stay with small injectors. RV275s are always a safe, inexpensive choice. The top end of idiot-proof would be Don M's 1.6 injectors.

The 1.6s will allow you to keep your stock turbo, and with the adjustability of the aforementioned fueling boxes, you can dial up the exact power level you want to walk the line between EGT and performance.

TGCTD,

We sell a lot of the 275RV's for customers doing what you are. They are enough, without getting overloaded etc for 99% of owners.

It will be streetable with both (injectors and box) and the seat of the pants feel is awesome.
I would definately add the sticks, makes a "HUGE" difference.

If you are going to tow. (I tow 10,000#) it would be really nice to have the ability to "turn down" or "turn off" the box, as the EGT will rise. I have to turn my comp off when towing and still watch the EGT in a hard pull as the temp can still exceed 1300 on a hot day/steep pull.

You will be forced to slow down and observe posted speed limits when cornering (towing) due to the power this engine is capable of putting down. Awesome pulling power!

bwat4,

Is your Comp tapped? Seems strange to only see a 14 hp gain from an EZ to a Comp if the wire is tapped......Which injectors of Don's are you using?
