Stack sound 2nd Gen 24v VS. 3rd Gen

If you had a 2nd Gen 24v with 5" exhaust and 6" dual stacks, and a 3rd gen with the same setup which one will sound louder. From the few straight piped 3rd gen's i've heard they are much quieter. The 3rd gens sound so much different I cant imagine what one with stacks would sound like? Anyone got some soundclips?

Thanks!!

3rd gens dont sound too great sorry to say that a lil bit like a ricer
6inch stacks give u deeper sound initially but then they drone alot ...i find 5 inch to be the best ...i dont really think there's an exhaust sound difference between 12 valve and 24 valve but the 24 valve idles more roughly

nice name by the way...doesnt take much to be faster than a ford...just keep driving..u'll be the one who makes it home..since we all know 90% fords are still out there ..umm somewhere

I ran my 5" stacks without a muffler for a short time. Trust me, they're loud and sound just like a logging truck on straights. I had my 2nd gen straight also and the 3rd gen is just as loud and deep. Just about broke my ear-drums in the cab, but man did it sound GOOD! If you don't believe it just give it a try...

A buddy of mine has an 04.5 600 with a straight pipe, and thinks it sounds like a V6 camaro, I have to agree, totally different sound than mine.

I know I only have a Dozen valves, but my truck sounds like a Semi on drugs, especially when she has a load on! 5" stacks off the cab, Rubber mounted...and lovin' it

This one is straight piped to stacks. Exhaust note is different than previous years, thats for sure. The biggest difference though is the engine noise.

No sound clips though, sorry! I can say this, under a slight load, he barks pretty good. Toting a good sized trailer, he growls....

Let me ask you another question. What is the difference in sound between 5", 6" and on up. Will it get louder if you use bigger stacks? I've seen pictures of a truck either on here or on Turbodieselregister of a green diesel with a single 8" stack. That must be mega loud!!
