Sport light conversion :)

Well I finally received everything from the fedex guy and did the swap this weekend. WOW, what a difference they make. I bought the lights from Importvision Motorsports and the harness from Suvlights.com. Was a simple project and I didn't even have to drop the bumper down.
The only problem that I had was that when I turned on the light switch the relay's started buzzing and the lights blinked off and on real dim. Figured out it was my DRL module so I unpluged it ran a jumper wire so that my high beam indicator on the dash still worked and now so far everything works great. Well worth the money spent. The clear lens' look good too.

Could you please tell me what is the DRL module? I have installed the Sport lights already but I'm waiting for the wiring harness from Suvlights.com. I though all I would have to do is plug the truck wiring loom into the new harness and then plug the four new light bulb sockets into the sport light. This jumper that you set up does the harness come with instructions to wire it? Thanks, Carol

Is this a straight bolt on, and what is the total cost of parts?

Thanks,

The DRL module is only on the Canadian trucks which I have and it is for the day time running lights. If your truck is not from Canada you'll have nothing to mess with. The jumper is only for the DRL module. Just plug your harness in and hook up the power to the battery and you'll be good to go.

It's a straight forward bolt on upgrade. Three screws hold your headlight assembly, pull thoughs and pop out the old and in with the new.I am into it for $343.00. Not cheap but it is worth it, IMO.

Early model trucks ( 98 - 99) might need some metal cutting. I had to cut out about a 4" square inboard of the existing hole - this is behind the light so it desn't show.

I got this off of another forum. Basicly just jump the two red wires.

Thanks for the information. I don't have a Canadian truck but I wish I had day time running lights. Take care and have a Great New Year, Carol
