Sourceautomotive Twin Kit

I'm looking at upgrading to twins for towing and daily driving (and the occasional "wow, that's a fast, big truck ). I like the idea of a bolt on kit as I am not experienced with changing turbos or building turbo systems. Thoughts on this 2/3 system for $2500? Anyone have it? Got a better idea for a bolt on kit?

Thoughts, ideas, comments and the like are always welcome.

Thanks.

Also, does this kit require it to be welded or is it strictly a bolt on kit? Is it a TOTAL Inclusive kit or are there little things I'll need to get?

its a great set up your better off just calling and talking to Rip or Bill at source. they are bolt on kits. with certain recommendations. are you going to be using a stocker with this or do you have a bigger turbo now. just talk to them this way you get all the parts you need and the correct parts. great shop great people.

You will love it. See my sig for fuel mods.

i looked into that kit to but added all the parts but the S400 individually to my shopping cart and it came out to $1600 or so. You can get the S400 from city diesel for $650 less than that if you keep an eye on ebay. I did not add the fancy powder coated cold or intercooler pipes just the ones that were welded and ready for paint. I figured i could just grind the welds and paint 'em my self for 300 bucks pretty handy with a can of spray paint.

Most of those prices look pretty decent. I'm sure if you look around could same some money. Are you running divorce gate? You might want to add the price of a gate into your build. Its the little pieces that drive you crazy and where to get them. I've built three set of twins now, each time you learn something new. This time a buddy built my exhaust manifold at a different angle, and did a few adjustments to my wastegate on my GT3788R. My next set, I'm going with smaller turbos to see the differences.

If you look around a little more you can find S475's for even cheaper then that. I've found them for under 500 on the net.

Turbos are the easy part of building twins, its just all the little pieces that drive you crazy. A mock-up engine is good, but sooner or later it has to go on the truck. You would have to know what you need or else you get stuck quickly.I've learnt stuff on each build that I've done.

I called Source today and they said that I need to relocate the transmission cooler and possibly change out housings on my HX35 to fit their 2/3 kit. Has anyone had to do this?
