Something a little diffwrent
Something a little different
History- I built this awhile ago. Not really a diesel guy, but it seemed the way to go for this build. Went through a local aftermarket diesel shop who had a low mileage 1995 12V Cummins. Mild build with "O" ringed head with studs, delivery valves, BD turbo and exhaust manifold. Also supplied me with a BD diesel 47RH trans with OD and lockup with a pressure lock. Has been an awesome setup and have about 21000 all highway miles. It is a show vehicle that we go long distance to shows and stay in. I changed the fluid and filters in the trans at 15000 miles and adjusted bands which were very close. I am not hard on the setup. OD and lockup are managed with pressure switches which I can manually select to lockup in 3rd. Trans works well up and down but it always seemed like lockup was always a little abrupt. Nothing crazy just it noticeably affected engine loading more than shifting gears. This season taking it out on a trip I noticed lockup was different. It was more like when the trans shifts between gears. Actually seems more normal. Operationally no issue either way, but curious what would be the difference. Thoughts?
