I just got a smarty and went to install it in my truck. It pulled the original program and downloaded it's program successfully, waited the 30 seconds turned the key and everything came on but it wouldn't even try to start. Does anyone have any ideas about whats wrong with it

Which program number did you load? You didnt try software "0" right? Thats the anti-theft setting. I'm assuming youve tried other software levels already..

yeah i tried everything and have taken it back to stock and I still have nothing

Does the engine crank? If the engine cranks but does not start then may have something to do with Smarty. If no crank then I would say something else may be happening. Wierder coincidences have happened.

your clutch switch may be acting up and only a coincidence. do you hear the lift pump? like bob says wait to start?

Same thing happened to my 99 with a hypertech and after sending me several new programers they ended up replacing my ECM. Pain in the butt, but they were really cool about it.
