Smarty ?

I was reading some other post and got to thinking about the fuel saver mode on the smarty. Fuel saver is extra timing isn't it? I f so when you run a timing box, such as edge comp you would be adding even more timing than running on odd # settings? Just curious about this if anyone has any info. I think I ran mine on fuel saver once with the comp on, running empty interstate so no biggie I guess Right? I really don't understand what would happen with too much timing.Could someone fill me in on this also. Thanks Guy's

Too much timing can cause a "ping", it is supposed to be more noticable in cold conditions. The smarty has the other settings with no timing to work well as a stack (like you had it). A little advanced timing helps with mileage, more doesn't do anything for you the way I read it.

You didn't hurt anything.

I dunno how much timing the smarty adds or the comp but theory says that if you ran the comp to high you could cause excessively high cylinder pressures and pop the headgasket. Similar to advancing the timing to high on a 12v.

And Hohn's mentioned that too much timing means that pistons start melting at lower temps cuz the heats held in longer,... or sumptin like that

I would not go below #2 on the Smarty with the Comp stack! It is still a reduced fueling setting and should give excellent mileage.
Dosen't sound like you did any damage, being empty and just cruising, but two timing boxes over the long haul is a no-no!
