i just run a BHAF (Big Honkin' Air Filter...NAPA p/n2790) but still need an outwears (on order at the moment) and a fabbed up heat shield.

You have a lot of options. As for what's "better", that's your call.

Personally, I discourage using ANY oiled gauze filter on these trucks. That rules out K&N, oiled AFE, etc etc.

Now we see that many dry filters are coming onto the market with good flow and fantastic filtration efficiency. Look at filters like the Pro Dry AFEs, the AEM dryflow, etc.

I've discouraged the use of AFE filters on here before, but since they now have a DRY filter, I'd look at that one as one of my first choices.

ScottyII are like hens teeth. There aren't that many to be found. The new Icebox coming out seems like a good idea.

As far as oiled filters, the 2 stage UNI foam filter in my SAII works flawlessly and is way easier to maintain. The intake tube on my feed to the turbo is bone dry and I have never had a whisp of oil anywhere on the turbocharger compressor wheel..

ok i like the Icebox, now what filter do i want to get? u said a dry filter but which is the better one?
