Tell them to send you a new set and then you'll send in the old ones. They pulled the same thing with me when my #1 was leaking, my truck was down for two weeks (and that was fast when it comes to dealing with customs). Best of all, UPS tried to charge me for brokerage and GST on the replacement line.

Sorry to point it out, but this is one of those tough parts about a p-pump conversion that make it ill-advised for a daily driver.

Well do I need to call Bosch and order line stock from them and send it to Sheid and make them do it right or what? Can I put different ends on my stock 24v lines and have them bent? I did the p pump for reliability and I get crappy lines? Do I need to keep 2 sets of lines on hand at all times?

This does not make sense. why don't they use lines that are at least equal in quality to stock lines? I am sure they.could make a deal with Bosch and get lines sent to them that are straight and have no ends on them its just probly cheaper to get so called lines from somewhere in the U S that are poor quality and cheap and sell them for top dollar? This is making me angry

There are more than just 2 guys out there with P-Pump conversions or competition engines with custom lines. I would just work with Schied to get a good set of lines or take a look at a different vendor. Ask some competition guys what they use or something like that. It looks to me that you got a bad set, so this shouldn't too tough to handle.

Schied is about the only ones that make them. They sell to Haisely, who sell to PDP, and so on. I was looking around for different vendors as well, no real luck. If they'll credit you the full amount back for the lines, order a new set and then send your old ones back. I really do think you just got a bad batch. I've been through two sets of lines on my truck (changed sizes), only had the 1 leak, none have split. They all fit like garbage, though.

You can get straight lines with the fittings on the end, but its not much cheaper, not really worth the hassle of bending them yourself.

Just rebend them yourself.

I would never do it but a couple years ago a fellow posted that he had successfully brazed some cracked lines back together.
It was also on a VP to P pump conversion.

Bosch doesn't make the lines, as far as I know.

The metallurgy is actual quite sophisticated to produce a line that has very high ductility (to tolerate bending) and great fatigue strength (to resist pressure pulse fatigue).

One of the best things to help pressure fatigue is a super-fine finish on the tubing ID. Finer= more fatigue performance. I saw the difference my self when we tested max fissure depth of 15 micron vs max depth of 50 micron with the exact same tubing-- the fatigue improvement of the finer finish is considerable and consistent.

We had a Chinese affiliate try that with common rail tubes on a 2400 bar engine! It didn't work, needless to say..
