Just wondering if anybody had any dealings with InjectorParts . com, have a really good (maybe) price on RV275's right now. Its what i'm wanting but the price seems to cheap and scares me.

Never heard of them before. That is a good price but remember that is nozzles only.

 

Thanks for the heads up on the 'tips only', didnt pick that up. I dont want to mess with redoing stuff.

Change the nozzles out then have them pop tested prior to install. I think most injector places will pop test them for free. Let us know your results.

 

needing a clutch replaced first, having never done one was lining up some help and he just came back today and said nope, found out how much the 6 speed weighs. So I am looking. Will have to wait and see the cash left after clutch is in. Just was thinking for that price, I might just get them bought and ready. Planning on injectors when I finally get around to doing the valve adj.

If you have concrete floors or a thick piece of plywood, get an atv jack. They work great for a cheap transmission jack.

 

My buddy used a POS Harbor Freight transmission jack when he swapped his '98.5 from a 5sp to the 6sp. I thought we were going to kill ourselves before it was over. The transmission was very unstable and swayed around due to it's weight flexing the transmission jack frame. It felt like the 360 lbs of NV5600 was going to topple over at any moment. We also had to weld reinforcement gussets to the jack plate keep from bending it. We mounted the transfer case after the trans was in to keep as much weight off the jack as possible. The job took two days because we did not have the proper tools.

When it was time for my clutch, I rented a professional transmission jack from my local tool rental place last month. $35 for the day. I did not have friends to help either. Took my time and had the flywheel off in 4 hours after I started. Had the flywheel ground, and had the transmission back in and finished in another 3 hours. I did not unbolt the transfer case and left the front driveline hooked to it.

 

I agree completely...kind a like trying to usa a phillips screw driver in place of a torx it does not work...having the right tools for the job makes all the difference in the world and can save you tons of time and mainly frustration and you won't need to break out the BFH on every job.
