Running 26lbs of Boost??? I want more!

SO, I plugged the wastegate on my truck and all I can spike is 26psi and then it drops to 22psi. I was pulling the same psi before I even plugged it, so it leads me to believe that I have a bad wastegate? What can I do to get some more boost out of her. Do I need to take the wastegate off and adjust the arm and put it back on? Or should I do some kind of spring to help hold it back? Or, should I get a new wastegate all together? Thanks for the help! Paul

Im pretty sure you have a HX-35 turbo.. Ive been told the waste gate is adjustable up too like 40 lbs on those. Im not sure how you adjust it though. someont will know.

Or you coulg get a boost elbow.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DODGE...Q5fAccessories

If you plugged the waste gate that's all there is available with the setup you run, until you make more mods. That's assuming there are no leaks in the exhaust up to the turbo. If the gate is stuck open a little you may be losing some that way.

You need more fuel, fuel makes boost. No fuel no energy to drive the turbine to make boost.

Yes...more fuel. I think I still have the fact injectors and I max at about 26-28psi of boost, just as you do.

Far from stock..

I would also check all the intercooler boots for snug fit and any signs of rubbing or holes. Small leaks all add up. But more fuel will get you there.

i would say a set of 80 hp injectors will get you the boost you want and still have good street manners

With the factory turbo that's going to be too much fuel. Having too much fuel is going to make it smoke like a train and cause your egts to skyrocket which in turn will cause internal engine damage. Stage 1 or 2 will probably get you there w/the least amount of $$$ but Jammers have been known to be smokey and dirty. I would go w/a higher quality brand and you'll be much more satisfied in the long run. DDP or Mach 1.6 if you have the $. JMO.

I can make 64psi..... with twins.

You need fuel to create more boost but you undoubtedly should check your system for leaks.... especially the lower intercooler boots; notorious for developing holes from rubbing on the fender wells.

I agree with high bid.. DDP or Formula 1 Mach series. They have the best rep by far IMO. And do something with your waste gate. Adjust it or get a boost elbow.

I just ordered my HX-35 and boost elbow last night, and although it isnt exactly a big, super, high performance turbo, Im DANG excited to be able to build more then 26 lbs (peak lbs of my cerrent HY-35.)

Keep in mind, on the HX35, once you hit 35psi any thing over that and you are just wasting fuel. You will be out of the performance map for that turbo.
