removing a comp

I just got a great deal on an edge comp; the only catch is i have to take it out. I havent taken one out before and was wondering if anyone could give me some direction. It is hooked up with the wire tap and the boost elbow. any info is greatly appreciated and pics would be even better. sorry for the long post.

check out Edge's website.. they have Install directions.. so read them, and it should be pretty fricken easy.. You'll need the stock boost elbow off your truck to put on the one you take the edge elbow out of..

I'd say the owner of the truck better have an elbow of his own, cause he wouldn't be getting anything off my truck. If its was me. Great deal Sure, but you have to have no liability on his truck after you remove it, if theres something wrong with his truck. Cover your own backside. Sign something, make him sign it.

I guess i didnt ask the question right. The boost elbow and wire tap are a little confusing to me. The owner of the truck is a friend to liability is not an issue and just for the record it is a she.

yeah

pretty freakin hot

Where in Texas? I'll just come help you so you don't have to post pics. [laugh]

As for removing the Comp, unscrew the boost elbow from the turbo. Make sure the turbo is cool, I've seen some bad results when removing from a hot turbo since the elbow is brass. The MAP connection is just a simple plug, same with the Data Link Connector. In order to pull the wire tap, you'll need to move the APPS assembly to the side so you can access the wire at the top of the injector pump. Depending on how it's connected, you may or may not have trouble. But you want to make sure that whatever you do, DO NOT damage the wire that the Comp is tapped into. There's not much extra down there, so fixing a damaged wire might be tough.
