PowerRaptor vs. Edge EZ

Has anyone had any experience with this product? Found one on Ebay and was curious how it compared to the Edge EZ. This particular PowerRaptor goes for $700.00...$250.00 on Ebay. Thanks.

Put fire and economy into your Dodge Ram Cummins, our custom designed power circuit "PowerRaptor" is specifically programmed to enhance your vehicles performance; 85 additional horsepower, 265 foot pounds of torque and between 2 and 6 miles per gallon. All data sent from The Raptor is within the limits of the Bosch injection pump; it does not exceed the trucks power train design. The Raptor maximizes engine efficiency by monitoring the RPM, timing, turbo boost pressure and fuel parameters to enhance both fueling and timing. The increase in power does not cause an increase in exhaust smoke from a stock engine. Now available for 1998-2003 pickup trucks with the 24 valve Cummins engine, our new PowerRaptor offer:

Seems to me that 265 more torque is more than your stock power train design can handle. Also No smoke? Thats no fun.

It sounds just like any other chip but it doesnt have the name and support that Edge has. For that price, go for it!

Buzz personally I would stay away. Stick to name brand stuff when it comes to engine mods.

Buzz,

Raptor's boxes at one time were simply Edge EZ's that were rebadged. If its still a plugin module (no injection pump tap) and still a rebadged Edge, there is no way that they are getting the 85 ponies, nor the 265 torque that they're claiming.

Rod

Re:PowerRaptor vs. Edge EZ

If it sold new for $700, but goes on eBay for $250, that says something about the value of the product. If they worked as advertised, I suspect they would sell for much closer to the new value.

Edge EZs sell for $500 to $550 new and sell used on eBay for $350 to $400. That's a product that the market says is valuable.

Bargains are bargains, but sometimes you get what you pay for.

Re:PowerRaptor vs. Edge EZ

The one for $250.00 on Ebay wasn't from a dealer...a private party. That explains the low cost. The dealers are getting $500.00 on Ebay.

Re:PowerRaptor vs. Edge EZ

I did a test a while back. The Raptor was a re-badged EZ or VA. Power between the VA/EZ/and some other re-badged product put the same down on the dyno.

IMO - Edge products work as advertised and have good folks standing behind them.

Re:PowerRaptor vs. Edge EZ

I talked with Edge Products yesterday and the Power Raptor is a rebadged EZ. The power rating are the same as the EZ however, if they can get a dyno to show these result they can claim what they want to. Just check that dyno!!

Re:PowerRaptor vs. Edge EZ

I run a Raptor box, it has worked without error for over a year of abuse now . I think it's a re-badged EZ though. If the price is right, I'd say go for it. I picked up a Power Button made by the same company on E-bay. I paid $80 plus shipping for it, I think the seller (an individual) forgot to set a reserve. It's been a wonderful addition, it hasn't de-fueled at high RPM yet. There are some deals to be had out there, you've got to be in the right place at the right time though.......andy

Re:PowerRaptor vs. Edge EZ

The power button is a rebadged blue chip box I believe. It's done me well so far and is sold by Dyno Sources.
As for the Duramax reprogrammer, it's made by Diablo Chips. You can find them"Here"
