Plateless 12 valve risks?

I recently found out that my truck doesn't have a fuel plate in it. When the guy did the head and timing he took out my fuel plate. I have been driving this for about 6 months now and I just found out a couple weeks ago. I never messed with it because it made alright power. I was wondering how bad this is for my pump? I am definately putting a plate back in it, what would you recommend and why, 0, 100, or 10? Also what should I look for to make sure this didn't damage anything.

Without a plate the rack can travel too far breaking off a pin inside the pump that is very expensive to replace. Many folks say no problem but even more have come back later wishing they had listened to the advice of people who know more.

Dropping in a 0 plate will give you just about as much fueling without the risk.

Thanks for the reply, I can grind a stock plate to a 0, can't I? If so, where do I find the profile to grind it to? Thanks for any advice.

Making a 0 is easy, just grind it flat even with the top of the plate.
