Paid a visit to Goerend's today
Finally made it up to visit Dave Goerend today to get my tranny rebuilt. I got to watch while the work was being done. Dave is a great guy, he even takes the time to explain things as he goes. I know this has been said many times before, but I will say it again: it's well worth every penny to get your tranny upgraded. The difference is amazing, I was all smiles all the way home.
------------------------------GEE! Mishkaya, Thanks for lookin me up!lol I would have drove down just to talk to you guys an watch dave at work! I am only a 1/2 hr away!

Boost;

In my case he had a rebuilt core & valve body completed before I arrived. He has run it on the dyno to check pressures and shifting.
Dave completed the TC while we talked. He a couple experimental custom billet stators that he wanted to install in my truck, but they hadn't been tested so we went with his milled stator.

I watched him run a trany on the dyno that was shipped to a guy in Penn. He made a couple changes before it got the Dave approval stamp and was packed to ship out.

Do you go to Dave's charity events every year? If so I may see you there next time as I will try to make it this year (schedule permitting). Wouldn't mind doing a Dyno run at some point now...

Charity events.

Not trying to let the cat out of the bag, but the recipients of those monies are usually organizations that have helped Dave in dealing with his son's (Mason) medical problems.

Does Dave use you as a test bed? He mentioned another 97 in the area as these are the toughest 12 valve platform to upgrade.

I have just about enough saved up, that and the tax refund should put me right in range.

Whichever I do, I wanted to go straight to the source, watch it happen, have all my questions answered.

ATS is a half day drive to the east.
DTT is in Canada, never been to Canada before, 2 days up, couple days for tranny and sightseeing, 2 days back, nice week off work.

Goerend is a bit too far to drive though.

Don't let that stop you.......Dave shipped one to me and I got the same great customer service from 1300 miles away. I did the R&R, it wasn't that bad. Rent a tranny jack. But I didn't get to have lunch with him.....

30K miles now, and never once regretted saving $1500+.......

The cool thing is he says his single disc TC will hold your power requirement. And if it does not he will send you or put in the triple for the difference in price. So you dont lose out on your original purchase if it doesnt work for you. And his warranty is great. Maybe when the time comes I could persuade Cowhand to help me install my Trans.

My next truck will be a 2wd Club/Quad Cab auto 3500 to haul my 97 around with. I will definately be looking at getting either part's or a tranny as a whole from Dave. Seems like he has just as much capability as the big boys and warrenty for a lot less of a cost!

Although I'm not a slushbox guy, I've never heard a bad word about Dave Goerend or any of his work. To me, that says a LOT!

Trust me I'm not either, but my next rig is gonna strictly a tow/daily driver rig.

You can't really appreciate a good built slushbox though, until you've driven one that's putting MAJOR power to the ground!

I've driven a buddies '02 Twin Turbo'd 2500 with a complete ATS in it. I thought my 5spd was fast.......that things WICKED!

I've gotta back up Dave's work and customer service, too! I didn't get the privelage of having lunch with him, but he did show my brother and I how a torque converter works. I would love to just sit there and watch him build a tranny. I definitely plan on heading down to this year's dyno event, no matter what!!!

Fueling Around, what happened to his son?
