well nearing 50000 now still going ....

story----aparently back when i did this a had a LARGE brain fart and i set the timing at 31 degrees ..yes you read that right . and after 45000 miles many trailers , nitrous kit , about 40 drag races , a couple pull offs the head gaskett let go , and i checked my timing while it was apart and "WOW ..THATS NOT RIGHT ! NO WONDER THE THING BLEW"....... HAHA! lets just say im not scared to run " a little timing " now!!!!!!

getting to twin it , just put DD3's in it, updates to come

Sorry to hear about the H.G. But glad to hear your pump issues are a thing of the past. Really enjoyed reading your posts on the conversion. Always wondered how it turned out. Pretty cool you went against the grain and did it yourself while most were doubtful.
On a side note......I think I would like to dump my 47re for a NV5600 but need a donor truck and some help. Oh well will probably just put in a decent triple disc TC and hope that will take care of the trans issues.

oh god no...dont get rid of the auto....that would be my dream to have one!!! DTT or ATS or sun co that thing ! MUCH MORE reliable , one of the twinned trucks that i built has got over 25000 on it with no problems yet ( DTT fully built), and one farmer that has a near stock truck that has a DTT tranny in it that he loves dearly (he was gonna sell it till i turned it up and had the tranny went through, now he won't sell it !) .....i have hell keeping my 5 spd and clutch in one piece.....

I'd really like to hear the "rest of the story".

I stick by my original contention that this is not an undertaking the average Joe should consider.

Trav obviously has a lot of talent and unlimited motivation. I'd probably have that motivation as well after 3 pumps!

Truth is, though, this was a MAJOR undertaking. Some people think fabbing brackets is no big deal. But a lot of us are barely comfortable doing injector swaps

I am glad to hear it went well. It's not the job I underestimated-- it was Trav!

Good Job.

Now don't you other guys get all kinds of ideas on P-Pump conversions. It's harder than you think.

the guy im helping has the motivation beings that hes on number two with in owning the truck for less than a year . even with his fass set up this last pump lasted all of 30 miles . he has been a diesel mechanic for the last 10 years . so i think hes wel capable and i have been a diesel mechanic for almost 8 years now most of the time spent on 8.3 and 5.9 cummins in construction equipment for the navy .

UPDATE:
50,000 on pump now ....still going, NO pump related probs .having some minor issues with lift pumps, but im getin that worked out. Installed DD3'S .Truck now twin turbo , had to add 2nd crankcase vent after twins(little oil leaks every where when you WOT ) tranny is still hanging in there with 212000 on it ( it cries when i get in the truck though) Ported my hx35, , on the the advice of Gunracer...it worked too . final note ...I LOVE P7100'S

PS if there are any questions bout the p-pupmping use my AOL email (TRAVJRATH@AOL.COM) i dont check in here alot

PSS hohn is right...this is not for the weak of heart, i could prob change injectors with the lights off...so being very mechanically inclined is a must for this project..like i said ..."gota have a little Jessie James in ya "

Glad to hear it's running great. I wish I had the time, knowledge, resources, and money to do this swap.
