overhead guages in 2nd gens.

does anyone have experience or pics of putting overhead guages in a 2nd gen? im wondering about the rearview mirror. from where i sit, if i moved it down to clear the pod, it *appears* as tho the mirror would almost be in the middle of the windshield. anyone have any real world opinions on this? its either this or the dashtop mount, id rather not do the a-pillar - its way to common.

mounting three gauges.

thanks,

jeremy

j-dubya,

Some truck require that the mirror get moved down a little on the glass, most don't though. What you'll find unless your 6 foot 12 is that the mirror comes up next to the mount and doesn't really change the rear picture out of the mirror you see much at all if any. I will say this to the overhad mounts are quickly becomming our fastest sellers, the A pillars used to be the way to go, but these are really what customers tell us they like as they are totally out of the way etc.

I think the issue isnt really that it changes the rear picture but rather having the mirror in the middle of the windshield...reduced visibility out the front.

What do you need a rear view for anyways? You have two perfectly good side mirrors!!

I'm running the windshield pod and had to lower the rearview 1". No issues for me, I'm only 5'7".

How would you run your Pyro to the console pod? The wire to my thermocouple is far to short to route along the head liner.

Just for info, the 50's Mopar stuff had the mirror mounted on the dash. As was my dodge adventurer convertable 1957.

Who sells this thing?

Everytime I do a search or try and hunt one down, all I get is for an 03 and up. Or does that one fit the 02 and down also?

I NEED MORE GUAGES!!!!!

Fair warning - if you wear bifocals you will not like the gauges mounted above the mirror - one of my customers tried it 'cause he thought it would limit his view around the a-pillar, and then found out he couldnt read the gauges up there.
