Talking Old School Catcher

Thanks to jazz_kt I now have a catcher on my truck and now I know what everybody is always raving about. This thing is just stupid fun. I know it's not as cool as a smarty but oh well. It's just as much fun. Throttle response is greatly improved. It really helps the light to light driving. My tranny is definately on it's way out now though. I had no idea how inefficient it really was until I put this thing on. It really does magnify the high stall speed of the stock TC. But that's all getting fixed this summer (maybe sooner). Thanks again jazz_kt. I'm loving this thing.

I just noticed something interesting. I've got the map sensor unplugged on my comp so when I'm in park I can rev the engine and blow a nice smoke cloud. When I tried that with the MAD ECM, the truck stumbled real bad. It doesn't do it when I'm at WOT in drive. Just in park. Yall think it's getting to much fuel now down low?

The catcher waits for very little boost before it starts to fuel, seems like it wouldn't make much difference if the map was unpluged

'Bout time you get some real power under the hood of that rig, Blue You're a little behind now, aren't you?

So the tranny don't like the CaTCHer, huh?

If all your dynoing is 362 at full power then I was ahead of you with just a comp and 275's. Don't worry. I'm coming up quickly. Tranny is getting done this summer and if I can swing it I'm gonna start working on my twins. I should be about 420-430hp as I sit right now. We'll see in april.

Hey BabyBlue, that was single charger, no Laser cuts, you know, pre-68psi+! I'll let you know Thursday night how far ahead of you I am...even with 13* timing

Then comes the head, cam, big pump, and big(ger) injectors...after all that, I'll probably be out of turbo, again

Don't worry, there's always someone waaay ahead of us

My goal is 500hp by the end of the year. Only reason I'm limiting myself to that is because of injector short comings. Mach 6's are dang expensive.

Must be nice. My goal is more like 300-350hp by the end of the year Ill be pretty happy with that though. I should be around 270hp or so right now; then once I get a VB; I think I will add some 215 injectors, and probably 181 DV's. At least one of the 2. Should get me a darn good running daily driver that will still pull a load with no EGT problems(with the valet on). Thats all I need. I just dont want to kill my tranny off to early. Those things aint cheap

Ya. I know the feeling. I'm still not 100% sure I'm getting one for my B-day so that's why I'm being careful with it. I'm still not 100% sure it will last till my b-day. I'm hoping to make it through spring break. Got a friend coming down hopefully and I'd sure hate to have my truck in the shop while she's here.

This thing gets better and better. On my drive to school today I got to see how it would affect my hill climbing power. Let's just say that I didn't even hear the engine change tone. It pulled the hill without any effort at all. It's way to early to report on mileage. Fun factor is still in full effect. I'm gonna fill up today and see what I do.

Good luck not using all that power...I find my self flat footing my truck more and more, even though my better judgement tells me my luck WILL run out with this head gasket I just hope it hold for the dyno tomorrow night

I'm also putting the Chevelle on the rollers too Blue
