Oil pressure gage?

The oil pressure gage on my 01 CTD rises all the way up to the spot where it sits after the engine is started as soon as I turn the key on I have watched it and it doesn't drop after starting or anything. Is this normal? I couldn't see anything anywhere that looks like a preluber. Any thoughts on this?

Also the seatbelt light in the dash stays on no matter what anyone know of a common reason for this either?

And last I am going to straight pipe the rig and also put in a mild chip. i was thinking along the lines of the Edge EZ due to not wanting a %#$*load of power that I would most definatly misuse and cause breakdowns that would put me in the doghouse. Now do i understand the edge correctly that it has 3 settings that you can move between? if so is this able to be done from inside the cab? and last would power setting 1 be pretty much like stock from a fuel milage standpoint / or would I be able to return to stock setting easliy?

Sorry about the long post wanted to get this all in before I leave work and loose my internet usage until Tuesday. Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Thanks for the help

Usually the oil pressure will rise and fall a little with engine rpm's, you may want to hook up a temporary mechanical gauge to verify your electrical one. Dodge's system leaves a little to be desired, and oil pressure sending units have been a fairly common problem with some trucks.

Reach under the seat and unplug the seatbelt wiring.

Yes the Edge is adjustable in-cab.

Enjoy your Christmas break

oil pressure sending unit

my oil gauge doesn't go up at all dodge told me pressure is fine but sending unit is bad . they wanted 400 bucks too fix it. from what I understand it's a 70 dollar part. does anyone know if it's easy to change. I don't know if that's a stupid question but I don't know a whole lot about trucks yet. and wanted to avoid throwing 400 bucks to dodge.

Depending on the year of your truck {fill out your sig, please} some have an updated sending unit which requires a reflash of the computer.
It's not hard to change, just unscew the old and screw in the new. It's here; http://www.dodgeram.org/tech/dsl/Fac...ocations-l.gif
