New Stack on my FlatBed. Caution, Big Pics

Well, after a week or two with my old exhaust (see my sig) I got tired of my taillights getting dim on the passenger side. They are now dim because they are sooted on the inside of the lens. I have LEDs to put all around and didn't want to ruin those as well, so there was only one option... A Stack!

Torching the $2,500 Flatbed,

Stack Covers and stack setup,
The Stack covers are an OE part from Dodge's Little Red Wagon. They had been sitting at the muffler shop since the 'Red Wagon had first come out.

Underneath, I kept the muffler that came with my 5" Diamond Eye exhaust, and used a 90* and a piece of flexpipe. Here the guys are clamping the flex together.

Here's the mounting plate we used to keep the stack nice and sturdy without having to use any mounts higher up on the bed.

Here are the guys lining up the stack. Gotta be straight!

Here's the finished product. Smoke pics to come soon!

I actually like the gaurds around the stack, they look like they belong on the truck! Nothing beats a single stack either![guitar] On topic but what are you running for twin turbos? What housings/ and boost numbers do you see? I am really looking to do twins soon but I'm not 100% sure about what setup I want... lol

NIce. I still want to do a single stack on my truck.but with the towing i do i dont really want the soot on the front of the toy hauler or on the seats of the boat. ahhhhh, what to do?

Looks good though!!!

A 35/14 WG'd and a 3B/22. I really could afford to go up a housing size or two on the 3B, but I wanted ultimate pulling cooling. In retrospect, my backpressure seems to be more of a hindrance than my boost.

I also have Piers Stg 1 Head, and cam.

If you put a turnout stack at the edge of the bed facing outwards, or at a 45 to the back the soot problem will be lessened considerably.

I did not want to block the racks' Lights, so I put the stack a little inboard, but then the truck frame was in the way, so we scooted it a little more towards the center, then the bed frame was in the way, so we had to scoot it in even a little bit more. I will post some pics of how it looks with our trailer tomorrow evening.

get a exhaust diverter...thats what JD does for when he hauls his boat:cool:
then he has a short black tip that dumps over the axle....cant barely see it so it does not look weird...it actually a really sweet set-up

Looks good MCummings!!! I love a single stack:cool:

i just hate the 45's. maybe a slip on tip for towing.... i like the straightup kind
