FMX, I too know all about the college budget. I am in school. Do you see any expensive upgrades on my truck? Heck, I'm trying to rig up a 3rd gen turbo for more air because I can't afford a s300 based turbo.

I used to run cheap buckshot mudders too. I have since found an even cheaper tire that lasts longer and drives faster, more ice traction, etc.

I am currently using one of these cheap autozone oil pressure gauges. It reads right on with the Adrenaline's boost read out. It is actually monitoring drive pressure now so I can get a better feel for drive pressures.

I paid 20 bucks for the black one, only to see two days later that they offer a 16 dollar identical one in white color. I was upset at my 4 dollar mistake!

I am cheap. I graduate in a few months so hopefully that can/will change, but for now, I have to be cheap!

An even cheaper gauge would be a the 10 dollar on sale Harbor Freight compression testor, or fuel injection pressure testor. Same price, both read up to 120 psi or so. I thought that the 20 dollar autozone gauge would be easier to rig up since it comes with the tubing, gauge holder, gauge, and all necessary fittings.

If you don't have an auto zone, I'm sure you could find it online for the same price.

EGT, I have no cheap solutions to monitor that.

But before anything, put some vice grips on the line and see if you get some more smoke control and power. I'm sure you will.

For cheap guages I went onto ebay lookup Wicked Motor Sports they carry all the guages that you will need. I found my pyro for around $50 the only one that they didn't carry was the fuel guage but I used there electric oil pressure guage instead(figured our fuel is an oil anyway) got that one for around $20. All in all I think I spent under $100 for pyro, fuel, and boost guages plus they look good and I haven't had any trouble with mine at all.

exactly! you can guess all day, youd be surprised how far you might be off. and you can ask my lil bro about running a chip w/o gauges. he ran an EZ in his 01. he lost the LP then the IP shortly after. he will tell you its no fun being without a truck for 2 months cuz your too broke to fix it.

see my post, i saved myself at least a VP when my guages let me know that my LP was dying.

I believe that fmx already stated that he had an upgraded fuel system. His only concern now should be egt's and sooner or later that tranny is gonna need some attention. A cheap boost gauge will tell him what it is pushing now. Egt will tell him how much he can push it and for how long.
