Unhappy Need Help

Yesterday went to back my truck out of the drive way and it almost quit on me so I shut it down set there a minute started it up. Looked at fp gauge 0 so I shut it back off. I have a holley blue paralled of the lift pump wire to a relay tapped on the relay started reading 15 psi. Drove the truck to town ran fine today when I lifted the wire from the lp to the relay that engerizes my ppump I read 0 psi hook it back up and read 15 psi. Does it look like my lift pump has went out or is there something Iam missing I have the quad commander and Just wonder how accurate it really is. What would you do in my shoes.

Not sure on your year (you need to fill in your sig) but even though you mention a ppump I'm guessing you mean your VP because you have a Holley pusher? I would plumb in a mechanical gauge to double check you readings before you go any farther. Were your lift pumps running while the gauge read 0? Also check your connections for corrosion especially your ground.

Ratsun, What I mean by ppump is my Pusher pump, But if my lift pump was running I dont know. I thought the lift pump ran all the time if that is the cause then my lift pump was probably not running. Thanks for the info I believe you solved my problem.

You can tell if its running (not necessarily pumping fuel) by bumping the starter but not actually starting the truck and the LP should cycle for 20-30seconds. Its tough to tell when the trucks running I know. You should be able to tell if the Holley is running though. If I remember right the LP should start when you turn the key on for a few seconds then stop while the truck starts then start running again until you shut off the key. Hopefully so of the other 24v members will chime in on this one as its been a while since I had to deal with the electric LP stuff and my memory if fading of that nightmare

well I went back out and tried it again lp is getting power but truck almost dies if you let it idle for about 5 min. I looked at my gauge still read 0. A good lift pump should put out some psi shouldnt it. I'll have to get a new one tomorrow.

If the stock lp quits I really don't think the Holley will be able to push through it. I know when I was running 2 pumps, if one quit it restricted fuel so much that I would have 0 psi.
