I have had a 3" straight piped cummins before, and it was fun at the time. I really enjoyed the sound. But, Im getting to the point where I really dont like it being that loud @ idle.

So with that being said, I need something for my '98 12v. Right now it has the stock exhaust system, and I was thinking of these 2 options:

1. I have the resonator off my brothers 01' 24v., and I was thinking of getting a 4x3 reducer, cutting out my stock muff/cat, and putting it on my truck.

2. Get a 3" straight thru muffler to replace the stock muff/cat.

Option #1 would be cheaper, but how will it sound? I dont want it loud at idle, but I wouldnt mind a little noise when going thru the gears.

Anyone running the resonator only?

What are ya'lls thoughts?

Get a 4" magnaflow race muffler it quiets down the noise, a friend did it on his...

If you want easy to install and a full system our aluminized MBRP's have 100% welded hangers and just pops back in to place where the stock rubber mounts are. They are in the low 300.00's so it'll cost you more than parting one together, but installs easy, sounds great and will last you a long time.
