My father has a 01, 24v,6spd, high output(i think), his edge ez died last week. What is a comparable replacement? It needs to be a set it and forget it kind of thing, the old man is clueless about vehicles. He wont get gauges, I cannot get him to accept the importance of them. This truck tows, max 10k, but it get hotter than hades around here, so the chip has to be pretty tame. I was looking at those superchips, but what are the good brands to look into? thanks

philabuster's right. Its pretty much the exact same thing as the EZ.

 

so is the xzt more reliable than the ez? Ive looked at prices, they are both right in there. The truck ran pretty strong with the edge, smoked pretty good, but i allways worried about egt's towing, but I imagine its probally about maxed, 12-1300 on the long pulls.

 

Not sure if mor "reliable" Edge has been around a bit linger but both have good reps. I had my EZ for a year and a half and never had a problem. Just wanted more power. I was happy with mine, just pick one, there close enough to the same i dont think itll be that big a differance.
