Re:My CTD vs Stock Duramax

Hit 128mph in the Excursion. Crazy for me to be driving a 9000lb truck 128mph. My brother had his F350 up to 132mph on 37" Military II tires. Now thats a unguided missle. My last name has speed writtin all over it. ;D

SD03

Re:My CTD vs Stock Duramax

Sorry, this is not something I would be bragging about. To do that speed on truck tires in my book is just plain stupid!!! Too many things to go wrong with lifetime consequences. Sharing the road with guys that drive like this scare me.

Little spurts over 100 might not tear them up right away( I doubt your doing those speeds for any lenght of time without getting busted), Run 20 minutes, then go out and feel how hot they are. Re:My CTD vs Stock Duramax

I usually do about 75, maybe 80 on the highways depending on traffic. Only time I do crazy speeds is if I'm alone on the roads. I don't like to swerve through traffic. I have friends that do though. Most of my high speed runs or just floor it there and then let it coast back down. I have cruised over 90 for a while though. Tires weren't that hot. I'm not a nutty driver. I usually crusie nice and slow. Show off the truck. There are times though when I want to drive fast. Ever since I wrecked my dad's car, I've been a much better driver. No. I wasn't speeding or doing something crazy in it. I went to check my mirror and when I looked back, traffic had stopped about 5 feet in front of me and I couldn't stop quick enough.

Re:My CTD vs Stock Duramax

Same here. But no accidents. When its an open road nobody on it I open it up but when theres atleast 5 cars infront of me I dont open it up. Its crazy to do that.I cant weave in and out of traffic cause both the Excursion sways and the F350 with the big lift sways. The F350 tires are cheap so they high speed cup easy starts at like 75mph. But ohwell. I will stop soon. Maybe when I get my own truck it will stop.

Re:My CTD vs Stock Duramax

Last night we had truck pulls in Cecil County Maryland. They were pulling the pull sleds don"t know the weight. The Dodges were pulling the sleds out the door at 230ft. the Fords were at 200ft max and the duramaxes were behind the Fords. ;D ;D

Re:My CTD vs Stock Duramax

Well I have reason why the Dmax may be so quick. But I hesitate to mention it because it may spark an old flame. I gave it some thought and decided to take the fire extinguisher off the wall and hand it to StakeMan. Next I made sure that my computer is properly grounded and the key board is sparkless. Well here it goes.
The Allison shifts locked after 24mph.
What this means to any old tranny war you get to decide. But the Dmax is quick isn’t it.
