right now i get 26 psi @ max with my j-hook. should i tighten it up, its a little smokey with my injectors. could i get 30 psi with my j-hook and other mods?

 

Yeah, tighten it up a little more. I'm seein over 40psi with my Adrenaline, I need to back mine off a little. Even with my B/Dog Torque Dog module (65hp) I was seein 32psi.

 

You might have a boost leak

 

good point i didnt think about a boost leak, i thought 26 psi is all it will produce. i need to check around where i put my boost pressure gauge, intercooler boots, i have seen some of them look like they might be pushed off. ill look tomorrow and give details.

 

I get 35 psi with my j-hook and comp box. BigB82789 may very well be right about a leak.

 

checked for leaks, i didnt see any. i checked around all the boots and where i put my boost gauge.

 

i know different turbo but they seem to function pritty close, i got an adjustable boost elbow and closed it all the way, still with my XZT+ im only seeing 21psi, are you running injectors too to see those boost levels or should i be looking for a leak too?

 

You should be seeing higher boost numbers than that with the XZT+ and boost elbow. stock I was seeing 23 psi and with the XZT+ and boost elbow on mine I have no problem getting 30+ psi of boost

 

humm, ok wll i guess i need to find that thred about checking boost and try it, i thought it was low, mine hits its max i think around 2500 rpms then starts droping after that, is that normal too?

 

Yes you should def see higher boost levels than that with that XZT+!! Somethin dont seem right their bud.

Yes sir. If you are on the throttle and you havent shifted yet youre boost should still increase unless you are WOT and youre boost is already maxed. Youre boost should not decrease till you let off or the trans shifts.

I havent experienced a boost leak myself but from what other guys have explained about boost leaks what you are describing it sure sounds like a boost leak. Especially since youre boost builds builds then starts to drop again without you shifting or letting off the throttle.

 

ok ill try and find it then, humm, i think it acculy on the gaskit on the intak manifold, any easy way to find it?
