Michelin LTX A/T 2 Tires
 

It's tire time again. Does anyone have experience with Michelin's LTX A/T2 tires? Looking for a good alternative to the BFG All Terrain's.

I've had a lot of luck with the Michelin LTX tires. I've got the MS on my truck though.

I have the new LTX AT2's in 285/75/16's on my 1993 W250 and really like them, they handle good. They are alittle louder then the 285/75/16 LTX
MS2's i have on my 1999 2500 but not much, nothing like the BFG ATs i had ran in the past. I really like running michelin E rated tires on my dodges, they are long lasting, nice riding tires and if you keep them rotated all the sets i have had have worn nice and even.

I ran them on an ambulance once. They didn't last nearly as long as the regular LTX. They were a little louder, too. No difference in traction on various surfaces. I was a little hard on those rigs, though.

I have a set on the 01 not impressed 9000 miles, more then half gone ,and I dont burn them off and keep track of the pressure the ltx from the factory got 80,000 im running 285s maybe they dont like 800 lbs of TQ?
if you look at the diesel stop the new fords come with them and them guys are having the same issues of fast wear.

I have 30k on mine and they are about half done, I will go with the ATX M/S 2 next time and try them, I have always had good luck with Michelin tires.

I purchased the Michelin AT/2 tires on both trucks noted in my signature and have been very pleased with their overall performance. I observed a big improvement over the stock Michelin LTX tires in regards to traction in wet grass, snow and loose road surfaces. I felt that the stock OEM LTX tires were a very good highway tire that wore like iron (84,000 and 88,000 miles). I replaced them on each truck prior to winter weather with 5/32 remaining. I felt they were not suited for rain or snow covered roads or soft ground. Given that information,I searched for a tire that would wear as well, but perform significantly better than the stock LTX tires did. To me,the AT/2s seemed to be the perfect replacement.

My 01.5 currently has 66,000 miles on the Michelin AT/2s which are wearing like iron. They perform very well and have exceeded my expectations. I would expect to get at least 80,000 miles or more out of them given their current condition. The AT/2s on my 03 have gone 34,000 miles so far with little and exceptionally even tread wear. I would like to get 80,000 miles out of them as well. Given their condition so far, it appears that this goal is doable. The AT/2s wear very well and have become my choice for tires in the future. I also use Michelin's on our company trucks which are 2007 5.9 CTDs.

Took off original Michlens at 43k and replaced them with A/T2'S.Best move i've made.A little more noise but alot more traction.Have 30K on the tires and not even to halfway point on tread[not even close].Would buy another set for my truck and in process or getting a set for my better half's truck.

If traction is really important, the another brand might be better suited. Most Michelin models are optimized more for treadlife (harder compound).

I'm looking at some Bridgestone A/T REVOs for my next set.

My truck was delivered new with these tires. At around 91,000 miles, I replaced them with the same.

I will replace my tires in about another 1,00o miles or so. I now have 162,000+ miles on the truck.
