i have heard that you can run up to 50psi of boost w/out head work, so i would set the waste gate at 40-45 to be sure...

A stock head can handle up to 50 psi. But your HX35 (or is it a HY??) turbo loses it effeciency over 35 psi. So 40-45 psi really does nothing for you. I'd set your wastegate for 35 psi.

I have hit 40+ for a long time now but I also know that I am overspooling my turbo. No problems

The stock HX35 really starts to drop off at about 28psi. That is the peak of its efficiency. We have run trucks to 45psi with no problems to the gasket. Anything past that and you run the risk.

Drive pressure is the bigger issue anyway.

But the HX35 seems to do ok up to around 35 psi as stated.

I would keep winter boost below 40psi and summer boost below 45 psi.

It's all about air density.

HX-35 out of efficiency range above 35psi or so... So gate it there and call it done...

Why do you need to keep it under 10psi??? I would think boost is relative to speed, rpm and amount of throttle. So why would 10 psi be the magic number for cruising?

Under cruise conditions, boost = drive pressure.

The higher the drive, the harder it is to get the air out of the cylinder. I don't know why 10psi would be the magic number. But generally, high boost at cruise is wasted energy.

ive done 60 plus

but only on a handful of occasions, and not for very long. I drive with (for now) a completely stock head and so far have not had many problems... most my truck has seen since the last time it was dynoed is about 45 psi at about 1/2 throttle with dragonfly injectors and stock DVS....
